CEO Valeri Bocage Speaks to Indian Business Women at Google HQ
Since the inception of PWI, Valeri has been busy building communities and assisting women globally in having their dreams come to life. She was invited to speak at a corporate seminar, “Brand YOU – Identities that Make Statements” organized by NetIP, The Network of Indian professionals, held at Google headquarters in Mountainview, California on May 19, 2011.
The seminar focused on powerful business women leaders who have made a mark/brand in the industry for themselves and provide a message to the world that women have the power to make it happen. Valeri’s presence made a difference in the lives of hundreds of people especially Indian women who have faced cultural differences and face gender differences in their own families. She encouraged them to pursue their dreams and made them believe in themselves. According to NetIP, “it is very important today to bring out this message in our Indian community that one can reach where they want to be even though there are roadblocks and struggle, especially for women.”

News Release
HURRICANE KATRINA SURVIVOR TURNS LEMONS INTO LEMONADE Empowerment Events & Workshops for Women San Francisco, California — Valeri Bocage is a Katrina survivor. But the word “survivor” is not an adequate descriptive for Valeri's power, determination, grit and indomitable spirit. After losing everything (that's EVERYTHING) thanks to Hurricane Katrina, Valeri has emerged as a force stronger and greater than the wrath of a serious hurricane. With no place to live, Valeri moved to San Francisco and after about 14 months formed an international empowerment group focused on but not limited to women. Powerful Women International offers Empowerment Events for women all over the globe.
Valeri is living proof that, “after losing everything people can rise up and start again with whatever they have, and wherever they are.”
The idea has caught on like wildfire. The inaugural empowerment gathering was so popular in San Francisco, it is being held in San Francisco every quarter and beginning to be held in other cities. The cities scheduled are Houston, Texas; New Orleans, Louisiana; Merced, California and New York, New York for 2007.
Plans are being made for Chicago, Illinois; Atlanta, Georgia; Tel Aviv, Israel; Kenya, Africa and Bangalore, India for 2008 with other cities on the horizon. Valeri's network has spread with dynamic passion and receptivity and keeps growing.
The events are geared towards women professionals and business owners with the intention of taking them to the next level of their lives. Ms. Bocage believes that by empowering women to live their dream, we will also empower the entire world.
“I believe once a woman is fulfilled and living her dreams she becomes vibrant. She will then make a huge difference for her family and her community." We ask that each city continue the events to empower women every quarter, and for each city to take on a community to empower. For example, the Powerful Women International Team in Houston has decided to work with The Mission of Yahweh, a battered women shelter and one men's shelter.”
As the seeds of greatness are in each of us, PWIC's Empowerment events provide a forum for bringing out ideas, creativity and partnerships for making a difference on the planet.
Powerful Women International Connections is an Empowerment Group that brings women together to enhance, empower, educate and expand their lives with the purpose of strengthening their families and the community! PWIC believes that women are the cornerstones of our world and by strengthening and empowering women; we can make a powerful difference in the world!
